Destination Guide

Although the UAE is not an island, Ras Al Khaimah offers a coastal resort lifestyle, especially around Al Marjan Island. Hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, engineering, housekeeping, wellness and guest-services roles are common, with opportunities at international hotels and resorts. UAE culture combines Arab traditions, Islamic values and a highly international workforce; respectful dress and behaviour are expected in public places. Lifestyle options include beaches, desert excursions, shopping, water sports and mountain trips, while summer temperatures are extremely hot. Employers commonly sponsor work visas, residence permits and medical checks for overseas hires. Confirm whether the package includes accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, flights and gratuity before accepting an offer. Employees should not work on a tourist visa, and passport and visa documentation must be handled through official employer or government channels. Ras Al Khaimah is generally quieter and less expensive than Dubai, though public transport is more limited.
