Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers a coastal lifestyle with beaches, marinas and modern city destinations. Dubai and Abu Dhabi provide strong opportunities in aviation, logistics, tourism, engineering, technology, finance and procurement, while Sharjah and other emirates can offer lower living costs. The culture combines Islamic traditions, family values and a highly international population; modest dress and respectful behaviour are appreciated, particularly during Ramadan. Lifestyle options range from high-rise city living and restaurants to desert trips, water sports and cultural attractions. Most foreign employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas, usually arranged after receiving a confirmed offer. Employers commonly support medical checks, Emirates ID processing and sometimes relocation or accommodation benefits. Candidates should budget for housing, transport, health insurance and school fees if relocating with family. Salaries are generally tax-free from personal income tax, although other costs and regulations should be checked before moving.
