Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest concentration of professional opportunities. Strong sectors include aviation, logistics, tourism, technology, finance, consulting, retail and energy. UAE nationals benefit from dedicated graduate and Emiratisation programmes, while expatriates generally require employer sponsorship and a residence visa. Employers commonly arrange work permits, medical checks and Emirates ID processing, although candidates should confirm the package in writing. The culture is multicultural and business-oriented, with Arabic and English widely used; modest dress and respect for Islamic customs are important. The lifestyle combines modern cities, beaches, desert activities, international dining and excellent shopping, though housing, schooling and transport can be expensive. Dubai offers a fast-paced social environment, while Abu Dhabi is generally quieter and more spacious. Health insurance, accommodation support and annual flights vary by employer.
