Job Description

The role is expected to lead marketing communications for Shangri-La’s corporate or regional business, shaping brand reputation, media relations, content strategy, internal communications and integrated campaigns. Requirements typically include a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or a related discipline, along with extensive senior-level experience in luxury hospitality, consumer brands or an agency environment. The successful candidate should demonstrate strong leadership, strategic planning, crisis communications, stakeholder management and writing skills. The group operates properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets under the Shangri-La, Kerry, JEN and Traders brands. Its business includes accommodation, dining, meetings and events, wellness and other guest experiences. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on genuine hospitality, thoughtful service, cultural understanding and long-term relationships with guests, colleagues and business partners. The Hong Kong corporate environment supports a broad international portfolio, making it relevant for senior professionals in brand management, communications, commercial strategy and hotel operations. Benefits and employment terms vary by position and may include performance incentives, medical coverage, retirement provisions and hotel-industry privileges.

Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, technology, retail, aviation, professional services and international marketing. The city combines Cantonese traditions, global business culture, excellent dining and a fast-paced professional lifestyle. Housing is expensive and space is limited, but public transport is exceptionally efficient, and beaches, hiking trails and islands provide easy escapes from the urban centre. English is widely used in business, while Cantonese is dominant locally and Mandarin is useful in many commercial settings. Overseas professionals generally require an employment visa sponsored by their employer; applicants normally need a confirmed job, relevant qualifications or experience and proof that the role cannot readily be filled locally. Dependants may usually apply for related visas. Relocation planning should cover housing, insurance, banking, tax, schooling if relevant and the cost of living. Hong Kong is well connected internationally and suits candidates comfortable with a competitive, multicultural environment.
