Destination Guide

The Philippines offers IT opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Clark, Davao, and resort destinations including Boracay and Palawan. Hotel technology professionals may find roles with international resorts, business hotels, outsourcing firms, banks, and technology companies. Filipino culture is welcoming, family-oriented, and community-minded, with English widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle ranges from busy city living and strong food and nightlife scenes to relaxed coastal life, diving, hiking, and island travel. Costs are generally lower than in many Western countries, although Manila and major resort areas are more expensive. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Alien Employment Permit and a work visa, commonly a 9(g) pre-arranged employee visa; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers usually guide applicants through immigration paperwork. Research local healthcare, housing, transport, taxation, and typhoon conditions before relocating, and confirm benefits and relocation support in the employment offer.
