Job Description

The Sales Manager will develop new business, manage key accounts, maintain strong relationships with corporate and leisure clients, and achieve assigned revenue targets for Shangri-La. Candidates typically need a degree in hospitality, business, marketing, or a related field, along with several years of hotel or travel-industry sales experience. Strong knowledge of the Manila market, communication and negotiation skills, presentation ability, and an established client network are valuable. The successful candidate is expected to be commercially minded, target-driven, well organised, professional, and willing to travel for client meetings and sales activities.

Company Info

Shangri-La is a leading luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts, and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets. The group is known for personalised service, distinctive Asian hospitality, and high standards in accommodation, dining, meetings, and wellness. In the Philippines, Shangri-La properties serve business and leisure travellers in major destinations including Manila and Boracay. Employees generally work in a polished, guest-focused environment with opportunities to develop careers across hotel operations, sales, food and beverage, and corporate functions. Benefits may include service-related incentives, staff meals, healthcare support, discounts, training, and career mobility, although the exact package depends on the property and employment contract.

Destination Guide

The Philippines offers varied opportunities in hotels, resorts, tourism, sales, business services, technology, education, and healthcare. Manila is the main commercial centre and provides the broadest employment market, while Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, and other islands have strong tourism demand. Filipino culture is warm, family-oriented, community-minded, and strongly influenced by English, American, Spanish, and Asian traditions. Life can be affordable compared with many international cities, although Manila traffic, humidity, and dense urban living may require adjustment. International employees generally need an employer-sponsored work visa or permit; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers commonly assist with documentation, but candidates should confirm requirements with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration. Relocation planning should include housing, health insurance, transport, banking, and emergency funds.
