Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, modern island city with strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, aviation, retail, technology, finance, healthcare, and food and beverage. Its culture is multicultural, combining Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences, with English widely used at work. The lifestyle is safe, efficient, and convenient, supported by excellent public transport, modern amenities, and diverse dining. Accommodation can be expensive, so newcomers often share apartments or choose housing farther from the city centre. Foreign employees generally need a work pass arranged or sponsored by their employer, such as an S Pass or another applicable permit; approval depends on salary, qualifications, quotas, and current regulations. Before relocating, confirm the contract, accommodation, medical coverage, working hours, and pass eligibility. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
