Company Info

Shangri-La is a Hong Kong-founded luxury hospitality group operating hotels, resorts, and related properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international destinations. The company is known for its distinctive Asian-inspired hospitality, personalized guest service, and focus on comfort, quality, and attention to detail. Its Hong Kong properties serve business and leisure travelers and offer accommodation, restaurants, bars, meeting facilities, wellness services, and in-room dining. Employees typically work in a multicultural environment with structured service procedures and opportunities to develop careers in hotel operations. Benefits and conditions vary by property and position, but may include staff meals, uniforms, medical coverage, training, service charge, and employee accommodation or allowances where applicable.

Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, finance, technology, and professional services. Hospitality work is concentrated around Central, Admiralty, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay, and major resort areas. The culture blends Chinese traditions with international influences; Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in business and hotels. Life is fast-paced, highly connected, and convenient, with excellent public transport, diverse food, hiking trails, beaches, and vibrant entertainment. Accommodation can be expensive, particularly in central districts, so many workers share apartments or live in areas with good rail access. Overseas employees generally need an employer-sponsored work visa, commonly under Hong Kong’s General Employment Policy, and must not work on a visitor status. Candidates should confirm visa sponsorship, salary, accommodation, working hours, and benefits before relocating.
