Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers extensive opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, finance, technology and international business. Hospitality roles are concentrated on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, with strong demand in luxury hotels and major events. The culture blends Chinese traditions with international influences; Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in business and tourism. Life is energetic and convenient, with efficient public transport, diverse food, shopping, hiking trails and nearby islands and beaches. Accommodation can be expensive, so applicants should compare employer housing, transport allowances and shared rentals. Foreign nationals normally need an employment visa sponsored by a local company, and the role must meet immigration requirements. New arrivals should arrange a work contract, passport validity, medical or background documents if requested, and budget for deposits and initial living costs.
