Company Info

Shangri-La Group is a leading international hospitality company founded in Hong Kong and known for luxury hotels, resorts and distinctive Asian service. Its portfolio spans Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other major destinations, operating under brands that include Shangri-La, Kerry Hotels, JEN and Traders. Shangri-La properties generally place strong emphasis on warm hospitality, personalized guest experiences, service excellence and responsible business practices. In Malaysia, the group has operated well-established city and resort properties, serving business travelers, leisure guests, families, weddings and international events. Employees typically work in a multicultural environment with access to structured training, career development and opportunities across the wider group. Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied opportunities in hospitality, tourism, retail, education, technology and international business. Island destinations such as Langkawi, Penang, Tioman, Redang and parts of Sabah attract resorts, restaurants, diving operators and tour companies, while Kuala Lumpur remains the main corporate and career center. The culture is multicultural, blending Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with English widely used in business and tourism. Lifestyle ranges from busy city living to relaxed beach communities, with generally affordable food, transport and accommodation compared with many international destinations. Foreign employees normally need an employment pass sponsored by their employer; requirements depend on salary, qualifications, nationality and role, and the company usually handles the application. Relocation planning should include housing, healthcare, transport, banking, taxation and dependent visas. Island living can be quieter and seasonal, so candidates should confirm transport links, school availability and local employment conditions before moving.
