Job Description

The Junior Sous Chef (Pastry) supports the Pastry Chef in managing daily pastry production, including breads, desserts, cakes and plated pastries, while maintaining Shangri-La’s quality and presentation standards. Requirements typically include professional pastry training, several years of experience in a hotel, resort, bakery or high-volume kitchen, and sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen operations. The successful candidate should be organised, creative, hands-on and able to supervise and train junior team members. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays is expected. Strong teamwork, attention to detail, cost awareness and the ability to maintain consistent standards during busy service periods are important.
