Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hotel and resort opportunities across Java, Bali, Lombok, Batam, and the islands of eastern Indonesia. Jakarta is the main business hub, while Bali is especially strong for luxury resorts, wellness, food and beverage, and tourism careers. Lombok and destinations such as Flores, Bintan, and the Maluku islands provide a quieter lifestyle but may have fewer services and international schools. Indonesian culture values hospitality, community, religious respect, and polite communication; workplaces are often multicultural and hierarchical. Living costs vary considerably, with Bali resort areas and Jakarta generally more expensive than smaller towns. Foreign employees usually require employer sponsorship, a work permit, and the appropriate limited-stay visa; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers often assist with documentation, accommodation, relocation, and local registration. Candidates should confirm benefits, tax treatment, housing, and contract terms before moving.
