Destination Guide

Indonesia offers varied opportunities in hotels, resorts, engineering, tourism, construction, technology, and services. Bali is the best-known island for international hospitality work, with strong demand in Denpasar, Nusa Dua, Seminyak, and other resort areas. Java, especially Jakarta and Surabaya, provides broader corporate and technical employment. Indonesian culture values politeness, community, religious diversity, and respect for local customs; modest dress and sensitivity around ceremonies are important. Island life can be relaxed and outdoor-oriented, but traffic, humidity, seasonal rain, and variable infrastructure require adjustment. Foreign employees generally need employer sponsorship and the appropriate work authorization, commonly arranged through the company before starting work; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Relocating requires a valid passport, contract, medical documents, accommodation planning, and insurance. Learning basic Indonesian is highly useful for daily life and workplace communication.
