Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with opportunities in hospitality, events, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare and logistics. The culture is multicultural, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Life is safe, efficient and urban, with excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, parks and an active arts and events calendar. Housing can be expensive, especially near central districts, so many employees choose condominiums or rooms farther from the city centre. International employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass; managers may qualify for an Employment Pass, subject to current salary and eligibility rules. Employers usually guide successful candidates through the application process. New arrivals should budget for rent, transport, healthcare and a possible rental deposit, while respecting local laws and workplace expectations.
