Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city-state with strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, food and beverage, events, finance, technology and international business. Its multicultural population is reflected in English, Mandarin, Malay and Indian influences, along with diverse food, festivals and neighbourhoods. The lifestyle is safe, efficient and urban, with excellent public transport, modern healthcare and many shopping, dining and leisure options. Living costs are high, particularly for rent, so employer accommodation or housing support should be checked. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications and government criteria. Relocation normally involves securing the job and pass before arrival, arranging housing and obtaining local banking and mobile services. Singapore has a warm, humid climate throughout the year.
