Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food service, retail and business services. Its multicultural society blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in its food, festivals and everyday life. The lifestyle is clean, safe and convenient, with excellent public transport, modern healthcare and many shopping, dining and entertainment options. Living costs, especially rent, can be high, so employer accommodation or shared housing may be helpful. Foreign workers generally need a valid work pass arranged by an employer before starting work. Depending on qualifications and salary, this may be a Work Permit, S Pass or Employment Pass; approval is handled by Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. Candidates should confirm eligibility, contract terms, accommodation, medical requirements and any service charges before relocating.
