Company Info

Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and known for its hotels, resorts, and distinctive Asian-inspired service culture. The company operates properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets. Shangri-La hotels typically offer accommodation, restaurants and bars, banquet facilities, wellness services, and business or leisure amenities. The group places strong emphasis on gracious hospitality, personalised guest experiences, quality, and colleague development. Its Hong Kong properties are established luxury hotels serving international travellers, local residents, corporate guests, and event customers. Employees may benefit from structured training, internal career opportunities, staff dining, uniform provision, and hotel-related discounts, although benefits vary by property and employment contract. Service standards are high, and employees are expected to demonstrate professionalism, cultural awareness, teamwork, and consistent attention to guest needs.

Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers extensive opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, finance, retail, technology, and professional services. Hospitality jobs are concentrated in Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and major resort areas, with strong demand for English-speaking staff and people who can also use Cantonese or Mandarin. The culture is fast-paced, international, and respectful of efficiency, punctuality, and hierarchy. Public transport is excellent, while housing is compact and expensive, so many employees share accommodation or live in the New Territories. Food, shopping, hiking, beaches, and cultural attractions provide a varied lifestyle despite the dense urban setting. Foreign workers generally need an approved employment visa before starting work; the employer normally sponsors the application and must demonstrate a genuine role and suitable salary. Applicants should prepare passports, qualifications, references, and medical or background documents where required. Confirm visa, contract, accommodation, and service-charge details before relocating.
