Destination Guide

Malaysia offers hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu and other resort destinations, with demand in hotels, events, restaurants, tourism and guest services. Peninsular Malaysia combines modern cities, beaches and diverse food traditions, while Sabah and Sarawak provide a more nature-focused lifestyle and access to rainforests, islands and outdoor activities. Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous cultures shape daily life, and English is widely used in hotels and business settings. Living costs vary: Kuala Lumpur is generally more expensive than smaller resort areas, while island locations may have fewer services and higher rental prices. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, and the employer usually manages the application. Candidates should confirm eligibility, contract benefits, accommodation, transport, medical coverage and relocation assistance before moving. Tropical weather, traffic and seasonal tourism demand should also be considered.
