Destination Guide

Singapore is a modern, multicultural city-state with strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, technology, finance, healthcare, and logistics. English is widely used at work, while Mandarin, Malay, Tamil, and other languages reflect its diverse population. The lifestyle is safe, efficient, clean, and convenient, with excellent public transport, varied food, shopping, parks, and cultural attractions. Living costs are high, particularly for accommodation, so employees should compare employer housing support with rental expenses before relocating. Foreign workers generally need an approved work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass, or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary, and sector rules. The employer normally submits the application, and approval is not guaranteed. New arrivals should arrange valid travel documents, medical checks if required, local banking, mobile service, and suitable housing.
