Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied opportunities in hotels, resorts, engineering, food and beverage, tourism, construction, and property services, particularly in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, and other resort destinations. Langkawi is the best-known island relocation option, with a relaxed lifestyle, beaches, forests, water activities, and a strong hospitality economy. Penang combines island living with urban facilities, heritage culture, excellent food, and better access to healthcare and education. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, Indigenous, and international influences; English is widely used in tourism workplaces. Living costs are moderate, though island housing and imported goods can be expensive. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass approved before starting work; dependants may require separate passes. Employers usually assist with permits, accommodation, medical checks, and relocation, but applicants should confirm tax, transport, housing, and contract conditions before moving.
