Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, finance, information technology, healthcare, education and tourism, particularly in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu and Johor. Its culture blends Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indigenous traditions, with diverse food, festivals and languages. Lifestyle costs vary: city living is convenient but more expensive, while island and resort areas are relaxed and seasonal. Langkawi, Penang and Sabah provide beaches, nature and strong tourism communities, though public transport can be limited outside major towns. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, and the company must complete the relevant immigration approvals before work begins. Applicants should confirm visa eligibility, contract terms, accommodation, insurance and tax responsibilities before relocating. Malaysia is generally welcoming, but newcomers should respect local customs, religious practices and workplace etiquette.
