Destination Guide

Sri Lanka offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, aviation, technology, finance, education, and international services. Hospitality jobs are concentrated in Colombo, the southern coast, the Cultural Triangle, and resort areas such as Hambantota. The culture blends Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim, and colonial influences, with strong traditions of family, religion, festivals, music, and welcoming visitors. Lifestyle costs are generally lower than in Western countries, while Colombo provides the broadest range of international amenities. Hambantota is quieter and more spacious, with beaches, wildlife parks, and a relaxed coastal atmosphere. Foreign employees normally require an employment or residence visa arranged with employer support before or after arrival; requirements vary by nationality and contract. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, healthcare, taxation, flights, and dependent provisions directly with the employer before relocating.
