Company Info

Shangri-La is a major luxury hospitality group founded in Asia, operating hotels, resorts and related properties across countries in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. The group is known for warm Asian hospitality, premium accommodation, restaurants, wellness facilities and event services. Its Malaysian properties serve business and leisure travellers in locations that may include Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Kota Kinabalu and resort destinations. Shangri-La generally places strong emphasis on service standards, colleague development, ethical business practices and guest satisfaction. Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied career opportunities in hotels, resorts, purchasing, food and beverage, tourism and corporate services. Popular island and coastal destinations include Langkawi, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Redang, Tioman and parts of Sabah and Sarawak. Life is generally affordable compared with many international destinations, although resort islands can have higher housing and transport costs. The culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous influences, and English is widely used in hotels and business. Island living is relaxed, with beaches, diving, nature and outdoor activities, but supplies and healthcare may be more limited than on the mainland. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, with approval handled by the company and Malaysian authorities. Candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, transport, insurance, work-pass support and contract terms before relocating.
