Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hospitality and sales opportunities across Java, Bali, Lombok, Batam and other resort islands. Jakarta, on Java, is the main corporate and MICE market, while Bali is stronger for international conferences, weddings, incentives and leisure events. The culture is welcoming and community-oriented, with respect for local customs, religious observances and diverse regional traditions being important at work. Lifestyle varies from busy city living and heavy traffic in Jakarta to a more relaxed, tourism-focused pace in Bali or Lombok. Foreign employees usually need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work permit and stay visa; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers commonly assist with documentation, but applicants should confirm current immigration rules. Relocation costs, housing, healthcare, tax, flights and benefits should be discussed before accepting an offer. Basic Bahasa Indonesia is valuable, even where English is used professionally.
