Destination Guide

Resorts regularly recruit F&B managers, chefs, front-office staff, housekeeping employees, spa professionals and maintenance teams. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous influences; English is widely used in hotels, while learning basic Malay is helpful. Lifestyle ranges from busy city living to relaxed beach communities, with generally affordable food and transport outside central Kuala Lumpur. Foreign workers normally need an employment pass or other employer-sponsored permission before starting work. The employer usually supports visa applications, although requirements depend on nationality, salary and position. Candidates should confirm accommodation, medical coverage, transport, service charges and relocation assistance before accepting an offer. Malaysia is warm year-round, with monsoon timing varying by coast.
