Destination Guide

The Philippines is an archipelago with varied opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, business services, and technology. Manila offers the broadest employment market and urban conveniences, while Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, and other resort destinations provide strong hospitality opportunities and a more relaxed island lifestyle. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented, sociable, and respectful, with English widely used in workplaces. Living costs vary considerably: Manila and major resort areas are more expensive than provincial locations. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and an appropriate visa, commonly an Alien Employment Permit together with a 9(g) pre-arranged employee visa; requirements can change, so confirmation with the employer and Philippine authorities is essential. Relocating staff should arrange accommodation, health insurance, document authentication, and budgeting for transport and utilities before arrival.
