Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality and events opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan and other major destinations, with demand from hotels, resorts, restaurants, convention venues and tourism businesses. Filipino culture is welcoming, family-oriented and strongly influenced by Spanish, American and Southeast Asian traditions; English is widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living in Manila to a slower, beach-focused pace in island destinations. Costs are generally lower than in many international cities, although central Manila and resort areas can be expensive. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and visa, while Filipinos relocating between islands usually need only standard identification and local accommodation arrangements. Candidates should check immigration requirements, contract benefits, healthcare, transport and housing before moving. Weather is tropical, with a dry season and a rainy or typhoon season.
