Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, retail, technology, finance, and healthcare. Its culture combines Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Western influences, reflected in festivals, neighborhoods, languages, and cuisine. Living standards are high, public transport is excellent, and the city is generally safe and clean, although housing and daily expenses can be costly. Popular areas include Orchard Road, Marina Bay, Sentosa, and the historic districts of Chinatown, Little India, and Kampong Glam.
