Shangri-La Hambantota is a large integrated resort on Sri Lanka’s southern coast, featuring guest rooms and villas, restaurants and bars, conference facilities, recreational amenities, a golf course and extensive landscaped grounds. The resort serves both international visitors and domestic leisure, wedding and corporate markets. Destination Guide

Sri Lanka offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, travel services, wellness, aviation and hospitality management, especially in Colombo, the southern coast, the Cultural Triangle and the east. The culture blends Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim and colonial influences, with strong traditions of family, religion, festivals and welcoming guests. Lifestyle ranges from busy urban living to relaxed beach and countryside communities; expenses are generally lower than in many Western countries, though imported goods can be costly. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work or residence visa and should confirm current requirements with the Sri Lankan mission and employer before travelling. Relocating staff should arrange a valid employment contract, medical insurance, accommodation, transport and advice on taxation. Hambantota is quieter and more spread out than Colombo, with warm weather, beaches, wildlife parks and a slower resort-oriented lifestyle.
