Sales Coordinator

Hong Kong Shangri-La HKD 16,000–24,000 per month*
Job Description

The Sales Coordinator supports Shangri-La's sales team with client communication, proposal preparation, database updates, sales reports, appointment scheduling and administrative coordination. The role typically requires a diploma or degree in hospitality, business or a related field, along with good spoken and written English; Cantonese and Mandarin are valuable in Hong Kong. Previous experience in hotel sales, events, reservations or administration is advantageous. The successful candidate should be organised, detail-oriented, service-minded and confident working with colleagues and corporate clients. Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and hotel sales systems, are expected. Flexibility, professional presentation and the ability to manage several deadlines in a busy luxury-hotel environment are important.

Its hotels serve leisure travellers, business guests, meetings and events, and long-stay residents. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on warm hospitality, personalised guest experiences, employee development and community engagement. In Hong Kong, the company operates well-known luxury properties and offers opportunities across rooms, food and beverage, sales, events, finance, engineering and corporate functions. Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a compact, energetic destination combining a global business centre with traditional neighbourhoods, beaches, hiking trails and outlying islands. Hospitality, tourism, retail, finance, technology and professional services provide substantial employment opportunities, although competition is strong and Cantonese is often helpful. The culture blends Chinese traditions with international influences; politeness, efficiency and long working hours are common workplace expectations. Daily life is convenient, with excellent public transport, varied food and extensive shopping, but accommodation can be expensive, especially on Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. Most overseas employees need an employment visa sponsored by an approved employer, with qualifications and a confirmed job normally required; dependants may qualify for dependant visas. New arrivals should budget for deposits, healthcare, transport and initial accommodation. Lantau, Cheung Chau and Lamma Island offer a quieter lifestyle, while central areas provide easier access to hotels and offices.
