Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, food and beverage, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare and logistics. Its culture blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in its festivals, neighbourhoods and famous hawker food. The lifestyle is safe, clean and highly organised, with excellent public transport, modern healthcare and extensive shopping and dining options. Housing and daily expenses can be high, especially near central areas, so shared accommodation is common for hospitality workers. Foreign employees normally require an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and occupation. Candidates should secure a written offer before relocating and confirm pass eligibility, accommodation, medical coverage and relocation costs. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
