Destination Guide

Singapore is a modern city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, finance, technology and healthcare. Hotel jobs are commonly available in restaurants, guest services, housekeeping, culinary operations and events, particularly for candidates with recognised experience and English-language skills. The culture is multicultural, orderly and fast-paced, with English widely used at work alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Lifestyle costs are high, especially rent, but public transport is excellent, safe and convenient. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass: Employment Passes suit qualified professionals, while S Passes and Work Permits cover eligible skilled or service roles subject to government criteria and quotas. New arrivals should secure an approved pass before working, arrange accommodation, and budget for deposits, transport and healthcare. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round.
