Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, retail, technology, logistics, and professional services. The city has a fast-paced, international culture combining Cantonese traditions, global business influences, excellent dining, festivals, and a vibrant arts scene. Lifestyle options range from dense urban neighborhoods and shopping districts to beaches, hiking trails, islands, and country parks. English is widely used in business, while Cantonese is valuable for daily life and many local roles. Foreign professionals generally need an employment visa sponsored by an eligible employer, with approval based on qualifications, salary, and the availability of suitable local talent. Employers commonly assist with visa paperwork, but candidates should confirm sponsorship, medical requirements, and documentation before relocating. Housing can be expensive, so salary, accommodation, transport, and benefits should be assessed together. Hong Kong has efficient public transport and no general sales tax.
