Shangri-La is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel with a strong disputes focus to provide practical legal advice across the Group. The role is expected to manage commercial disputes, litigation, arbitration, investigations and external counsel, while advising business teams on risk, contracts, compliance and governance. Candidates should hold a law degree and qualification as a solicitor or barrister in a relevant jurisdiction, with substantial post-qualification experience in contentious corporate or commercial matters. Experience in an international law firm or multinational company, preferably in hospitality, is valuable. Strong analytical, negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management skills are essential, together with the ability to work independently across multiple jurisdictions and handle sensitive matters with sound commercial judgment.
Shangri-La Group is a Hong Kong-headquartered luxury hospitality company operating hotels, resorts and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. Founded in 1971, the group is known for its Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts brand, as well as brands including Kerry Hotels, JEN by Shangri-La and Traders. Its portfolio includes city hotels, beach resorts, residences and meeting facilities serving leisure, corporate and group travellers. The company emphasizes Asian hospitality, personalized service, operational excellence and responsible business practices. Corporate functions in Hong Kong support a large, geographically diverse organization and work with hotel teams, owners, suppliers, regulators and professional advisers around the world. This legal role would therefore offer exposure to complex cross-border commercial, employment, regulatory and dispute matters within a global hospitality business.
Hong Kong is a compact international business hub made up of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, with outlying islands and extensive hiking, beaches and country parks. It offers strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, law, technology, retail, aviation and professional services. The culture blends Cantonese traditions with international influences; English is widely used in business, while Cantonese is dominant in daily life. Housing is expensive, but public transport is exceptionally efficient and the city provides outstanding dining, shopping, healthcare and entertainment. Most overseas professionals need an employment visa sponsored by a Hong Kong employer, normally requiring a confirmed job, relevant qualifications and proof that the role cannot readily be filled locally. Dependants may generally apply for dependent visas. New arrivals should budget carefully for rent, deposits, insurance and schooling, and confirm tax, visa and relocation arrangements before moving.
