Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a compact, highly connected city spread across Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, with many outlying islands nearby. It offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, retail, technology, marketing and regional headquarters roles. The culture blends Cantonese traditions with international influences, while English is widely used in business. Lifestyle options range from dense urban neighborhoods, shopping and nightlife to beaches, hiking trails and excellent public transport. Housing is expensive, so many newcomers choose areas with convenient MTR access and compare employer-provided accommodation or allowances. Foreign professionals generally need an employment visa sponsored by a Hong Kong employer; applicants must demonstrate relevant qualifications, experience and a genuine job offer. Dependants may usually apply for visas linked to the principal applicant. Healthcare, schools and relocation services should be researched before arrival, and a valid passport, employment contract and qualification documents are essential.
