Destination Guide

Australia offers strong opportunities in banking, technology, healthcare, engineering, construction, education, professional services and skilled trades, especially in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. Workplace culture is generally practical, direct and collaborative, with emphasis on professionalism, inclusion and work-life balance. Lifestyle varies from major-city restaurants and arts to beaches, national parks and outdoor activities. Living costs, particularly housing, can be high in Sydney and Melbourne. Skilled migrants may explore employer-sponsored visas, the Skilled Independent visa, state-nominated pathways or graduate visas; eligibility depends on occupation, qualifications, experience, English ability and age. Relocating usually involves arranging a visa, employment, health cover, accommodation, tax registration and banking. Australia is geographically large, so local transport and distance between cities should be considered when choosing a location.
