Living costs are high in Sydney and Melbourne, especially for housing, while regional cities may be more affordable. Skilled professionals commonly explore employer-sponsored visas, the Skilled Independent visa, state-nominated pathways, or temporary graduate options. Requirements depend on occupation, qualifications, English ability, age, and experience. Relocating usually involves arranging a visa, employment contract, tax file number, health insurance, accommodation, and banking.
