Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest range of hospitality, tourism, retail, aviation, construction, technology, and professional-services jobs. The country is highly multicultural, and English is widely used in workplaces; Arabic is the official language. Life is modern, convenient, and generally safe, with excellent public transport, shopping, dining, beaches, and international communities. Summers are extremely hot, so indoor facilities and air-conditioned environments are central to daily life. Employers normally sponsor work visas for overseas employees, arrange medical testing and residency processing, and may provide accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, and annual air tickets, depending on the contract. Employees should verify salary, service charges, housing, probation terms, leave, and visa responsibilities before relocating. Dubai has a high cost of living, particularly for housing, but hotel packages can significantly reduce expenses.
