Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers extensive opportunities in luxury hotels, restaurants, tourism, aviation, retail and events, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The culture combines Emirati traditions with a highly international lifestyle; respectful dress, public behavior and awareness of Islamic customs are important. Dubai provides modern apartments, public transport, beaches, shopping, nightlife and year-round hospitality employment, although summers are extremely hot and living costs can be high. Employers normally arrange an employment visa, work permit, medical examination and Emirates ID after hiring. Candidates should not work on a tourist visa. Relocation packages may include accommodation, transport, meals, medical insurance and annual flights, but benefits vary by contract. It is advisable to confirm salary, service charge, housing, probation, leave and visa costs in writing before accepting an offer.
