Destination Guide

Malaysia offers hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Sabah and other resort destinations. Kuala Lumpur provides urban living, international restaurants, shopping, public transport and a multicultural environment shaped by Malay, Chinese and Indian traditions. Popular island destinations such as Langkawi, Redang, Perhentian and Tioman offer resort, food-and-beverage, housekeeping, diving and guest-service jobs, although vacancies can be seasonal. Living costs are generally moderate, with Kuala Lumpur more expensive than smaller towns and islands. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored employment pass or appropriate work permit before starting work; requirements depend on nationality, salary and occupation. Employers commonly assist with applications, but candidates should confirm visa, medical, contract and accommodation details before relocating. Malaysia is warm year-round, and learning basic Malay can help with daily life, although English is widely used in hotels and tourism.
