Destination Guide

Seychelles offers opportunities in luxury resorts, hotels, restaurants, marine tourism, housekeeping, wellness, maintenance, retail and guest services. Mahé has the largest employment market, while Praslin and La Digue provide a quieter island lifestyle. The culture blends African, European and Asian influences, with Seychellois Creole, English and French widely used. Life is relaxed and outdoors-oriented, with beaches, hiking, snorkeling and island excursions close by, although imported goods and accommodation can be expensive. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Gainful Occupation Permit, and the employer usually supports the application and relocation process. Confirm the permit, contract, accommodation, flights, medical requirements and benefits before traveling. Resort roles may include staff housing and meals, which can significantly reduce living costs. Reliable documentation, flexibility and respect for local customs are important when settling into island life.
