Destination Guide

Qatar is a peninsula rather than an island, offering a modern Gulf lifestyle centered on Doha. Job opportunities are strong in luxury hospitality, tourism, aviation, events, finance, healthcare, construction, and technology. The country is multicultural, safe, and generally well connected, with English widely used in business; Arabic is the official language. Lifestyle options include waterfront promenades, desert excursions, museums, shopping malls, international restaurants, beaches, and major sporting events. Summers are extremely hot and humid, while winter brings comfortable weather for outdoor activities. Foreign employees normally require an employer-sponsored work visa and residence permit. The employer usually manages medical checks, documentation, and sponsorship procedures, while requirements vary by nationality and contract. Candidates should confirm housing, transport, health insurance, annual leave, flights, taxes, and probation terms before relocating. Doha has a high cost of living, particularly for accommodation, but many senior hospitality packages include housing or an allowance.
