Destination Guide

Bahrain is a compact Gulf archipelago, with Manama and the main island forming the center of business and daily life. Hospitality, tourism, retail, aviation, finance, construction, healthcare, and technology provide employment opportunities, while luxury hotels offer international career paths. The culture combines traditional Bahraini and Islamic values with a diverse expatriate community. Arabic is the official language, but English is widely used in hotels and businesses. Life is generally convenient, with modern malls, restaurants, beaches, museums, and a lively weekend dining scene; summers are extremely hot, so indoor activities are common. Employees normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and residence visa before starting work. Employers often assist with medical checks, documentation, accommodation, transport, and flights, but terms vary. Candidates should confirm salary, service charge, housing, annual leave, insurance, and visa arrangements before accepting an offer.
