Destination Guide

Thailand offers hospitality opportunities across Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi, Pattaya, and smaller islands, especially in hotels, restaurants, wellness resorts, diving, and guest services. Chiang Mai is not an island, but it is a popular relocation choice for its cooler climate, lower living costs, mountains, temples, and relaxed lifestyle. Island living brings beautiful beaches, outdoor activities, and a social international community, though rent and seasonal employment can vary considerably. Thai culture values politeness, respect for elders, modest dress, and calm communication; learning basic Thai is very helpful. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored Non-Immigrant B visa and work permit before starting work. Employers often assist with documentation, but requirements should be confirmed with the Thai embassy and immigration authorities. Budget for deposits, transport, health insurance, and initial living expenses. Chiang Mai has good local transport and amenities, while island locations may require flights or ferries.
