Destination Guide

Australia is a large, multicultural country rather than a single island destination, with major employment centres in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and other regional cities. Hospitality offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism and corporate support functions such as payroll, finance and human resources. Workplace culture is generally professional, direct and team-oriented, with strong attention to safety, fairness and work-life balance. Lifestyle varies from lively city living to relaxed coastal and regional communities, with excellent beaches, outdoor activities and diverse food. Most overseas applicants need a suitable work visa, such as an employer-sponsored visa or an eligible skilled, graduate or working holiday visa. Before relocating, confirm sponsorship, qualifications, tax file number, Medicare eligibility, accommodation costs and local transport. Sydney and Melbourne are expensive, while Brisbane and regional locations may offer lower living costs.
