Destination Guide

Australia offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, healthcare, construction, technology, education and agriculture, particularly in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and regional areas. Its culture is generally informal, multicultural and direct, with an emphasis on work-life balance, fairness and outdoor activities. Lifestyle costs vary considerably; Brisbane offers a warm climate, public transport, beaches and easy access to nature, although rent and daily expenses can be significant. International workers need the correct visa, such as an employer-sponsored visa, Working Holiday visa or skilled migration visa, depending on eligibility and occupation. Check current requirements through the Australian Department of Home Affairs before making plans. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, a tax file number, bank account, local phone service and health insurance where required. Australia is a country rather than an island, with excellent domestic flights and extensive road connections.
