Company Info

Carnival Cruise Line is one of the world’s largest cruise operators and a major brand within Carnival Corporation & plc. Headquartered in Miami, Florida, the company operates a large fleet serving destinations across the Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska, Europe, and other regions. Carnival provides vacation experiences that combine accommodation, dining, entertainment, recreation, excursions, and guest services. Its workforce includes shoreside corporate teams and thousands of shipboard employees working in hospitality, marine operations, culinary services, entertainment, technical support, and onboard medical care. The company emphasizes guest satisfaction, safety, operational excellence, inclusion, and career development. Medical staffing teams play an important supporting role by ensuring ships have qualified healthcare professionals available and that staffing, credentialing, scheduling, and compliance requirements are properly managed.

Destination Guide

For this position, “On Cruise” is best understood as a shipboard work environment rather than a single island. Job opportunities are available across guest services, hospitality, culinary operations, entertainment, marine departments, technical maintenance, retail, and medical support. Cruise culture is international, structured, and team-oriented, with employees working alongside colleagues from many countries. Life onboard usually includes shared accommodation, scheduled shifts, crew dining and recreation areas, and limited but useful time ashore during port calls. Medical staffing roles are commonly shoreside, although they support employees and healthcare teams working at sea. Visa and relocation requirements depend on nationality, hiring location, itinerary, and assignment; shipboard workers may need a seafarer medical certificate, background checks, a passport, and a crew or transit visa such as C1/D for United States ports. Carnival generally provides employment guidance for required documentation and travel arrangements.
