SUPERVISOR, BIOMEDICAL ASSET MANAGEMENT

On Cruise Carnival Cruises $70,000–$105,000 per year*
Job Description

The Supervisor, Biomedical Asset Management oversees the lifecycle of medical equipment used across Carnival Cruise Line operations, including purchasing, inventory control, maintenance scheduling, repairs, compliance records, and vendor coordination. Candidates are generally expected to have experience in biomedical equipment management, healthcare technology, asset tracking, or technical operations, along with supervisory experience. A degree or technical qualification in biomedical engineering, healthcare technology, engineering, or a related field may be preferred. Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are important, as is familiarity with regulatory standards, maintenance systems, budgets, and computerized asset-management tools. The role requires attention to detail, effective cross-functional coordination, and the ability to support medical teams across a large cruise fleet.

Company Info

Carnival Cruise Line is one of the world's largest cruise companies and a flagship brand of Carnival Corporation & plc. Headquartered in Miami, Florida, the company operates a broad fleet of cruise ships visiting destinations throughout the Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska, Europe, and other regions. Carnival focuses on accessible, fun-oriented vacations, offering accommodation, dining, entertainment, recreation, shore excursions, and onboard guest services. Its operations depend on large shore-based teams and thousands of crew members working in hospitality, marine operations, engineering, technology, finance, healthcare, and corporate support. The company also maintains medical facilities and professional healthcare services aboard its ships, making reliable biomedical equipment and strong asset-management processes essential to safe and effective operations.

Destination Guide

For this role, “on cruise” generally means working from Carnival’s Miami headquarters while supporting medical operations across the fleet, rather than living permanently on one island. Cruise-related opportunities include healthcare, marine operations, engineering, hospitality, food service, entertainment, guest services, retail, and corporate support. Shipboard culture is international, structured, and team-oriented, with long workdays, shared accommodation for many crew roles, and travel between destinations. Lifestyle depends on the assignment: shore-based employees have a normal Miami routine, while shipboard staff receive accommodation, meals, and access to ports during contracts. Visa and relocation requirements depend on nationality and work location. U.S.-based roles may require employment authorization, while ship assignments commonly require a passport, medical clearance, maritime documents, and visas for visiting ports. Carnival or its authorized recruiters should confirm current requirements.
