Destination Guide

Working on a Carnival cruise provides access to many island destinations rather than a permanent island relocation. Common ports may include Nassau, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Jamaica, and destinations in the Bahamas and Caribbean. Job opportunities range from housekeeping, laundry, food service, guest relations, entertainment, retail, maintenance, and marine operations. Life onboard is structured and fast-paced, with shared accommodation, long working hours, multicultural teams, and limited personal space, but meals, accommodation, and access to ports are generally provided. Crew members can enjoy beaches, local markets, music, and regional food during approved shore leave. Visa requirements depend on nationality, itinerary, and role; crew commonly need a passport, medical clearance, and relevant transit or seafarer visas such as C1/D for the United States. Relocation to Miami or another home port may require separate work authorization.
