Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but a federation of seven emirates, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah. It offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, events, aviation, retail, finance and business development, particularly for candidates with international sales experience. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large expatriate community; respect for Islamic customs, modest public behaviour and cultural sensitivity are important. Lifestyle options range from beaches, desert activities and shopping to restaurants, nightlife and major sporting events. Employers normally sponsor a residence and work visa after the contract is approved, with medical checks and Emirates ID registration required. Candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, transport, insurance, commission and annual-flight benefits before accepting an offer. Living costs can be high, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, so housing arrangements and commuting distance should be considered carefully.
